"Stretched" canvas or "rolled" canvas?
About Stretched canvas: We stretch our Giclee canvas prints ourselves and we create your portrait so that the color will wrap around the edges of the 3/4 inch stretcher bars. Staples are placed on the back so your canvas will look great on the wall without any additional and often costly framing.
About Rolled canvas: You can save money when ordering by choosing to order your print rolled. It will cost less to ship a rolled canvas print, however you will have to deal with the cost of framing or stretching at some point. When you order your print rolled we do leave a full 3 inches for your local framer to work with later. Ordering "rolled" is a good option if you already have a framer you know and trust.
About the canvas itself: Our Giclee canvas prints are archival and full of rich vibrant color. All of our custom portraits are printed on the highest quality artist grade canvas. This is a fine art canvas that has a matt texture. Your final print will be highly saturated in rich vibrant colors and look very much like an actual painting. We use archival inks to insure that your print will last a lifetime.
About caring for the canvas: Your print can be lightly dusted with a feather duster to keep it free from dust. You should not use any wet cleaning agents on it. We encourage our clients to avoid hanging their artwork in direct sunlight as any piece of art will fade over time if exposed to direct sunlight all day long.
About pricing: When comparing prices on the web be sure and check to see if the artist you are dealing with offers canvas stretching. You will probably find that our "rolled' canvas prints are lower or the same in price to most of the work that is out there. Canvas stretching is just a premium service that we like to offer to make our client's life a little easier. We don't think anyone should have to end up spending more on framing than their actual portrait. See price list.
